Mahindra launched the Alturas G4 in 2018, which is a rebadged version of the SsangYong Rexton. The car also got the BS6 updates earlier this year. But due to fewer sales, Mahindra is also offering Rs 3 Lakhs discount on the car.

Mahindra did specific changes on the car, especially for the Indian market. Like, smaller tyres for reducing the cost. This car mainly competes with the well known popular Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.
Mahindra offered the Alturas with only a single engine option in the Indian market. The Alturas comes with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine which produces a huge 180 PS of power with a peak torque of 420 NM. The torque peaks from a low rpm of 1600 RPM and makes it very fun to drive the car as such. This engine is mated with only an automatic transmission in the Indian market which is directly sourced from Mercedes-Benz.
